These
two activities have long been
carried out in a special section
of downtown Mardin. Coppersmiths
produce their pieces under
rather heavy conditions and by
manual work. Final outputs
include a variety of kitchen,
cooking and serving utensils,
pots and pans. Such copper
utensils had to be tinned at
least once a year. There remains
very few, however, who continue
this work in our days.
